Groundperson/Climbing Arborist Trainee/Intern
Position Overview
This position will expose you to the basics of getting your tree care career off the ground. You will gain exposure with hands on and day to day tree care operations. The opportunity is endless in this career that is ever evolving. No day is the same, far from monotonous. It challenges you mentally and physically. The sky's the limit for you to be creative in ways to accomplish the task at hand.
Job Duties
What You'll Learn/Do:
- Start on the ground with basic job site responsibilities (assist in gear setup/takedown, position material, rake/backpack blower operation, knots, what is all involved within the process of tree pruning and removal)
- Opportunity to learn tree climbing techniques and lift operation
- Operate as a positive member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills
- Apply the science and art of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
- Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, ropes, rigging, knots, operating equipment, and more.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Enjoy being outdoors
- Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
- Willingness to learn, work with others, ability to work well with others as a team, ability to "think outside the box", adapt to different situations, staying sharp, and applying yourself
- If you decide to pursue this career full time, the ability to obtain your Commercial Driver's Licence (CDL) within one year of employment
Climbing Arborist/Sub-Contractor

Job Duties
What You'll Learn/Do:
- Safely climb and apply industry accepted tree care and removal techniques in daily projects.
- Operate equipment if/as necessary.
- Apply the skills/knowledge needed to complete advanced/technical climbs, rigging, knots, cuts, and removals .
- Lead in the efficiency and safety of the crew within the daily operation/task.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of advanced climbing and time spent in Canopies.
- Understand and apply very advanced/technical rigging techniques.
- Hold a very proficient skill set for operating and maintaining equipment.
- Commercial Driver's Licence (CDL) or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of Arboriculture and how it applies to a climbing arborist: tree identification, the art and science of proper cuts, growth habits, and correct applied practice for pruning, repairing, maintaining, and removing trees.
- Ability to safely perform all aspects of being a climbing Arborist and also within a crew.
- Must be able to adapt to certain weather conditions while completing work tasks (rain, sun, heat, cold, snow)
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand/execute written/verbal instructions/tasks.
- Willingness to take initiative, adapt, continue to perfect/expand your skill set, and work positively within a crew.
