Pruning

Pruning is performed to improve structural integrity, manage risk, increase light penetration, and support long-term tree health.

Each tree is evaluated individually to determine appropriate pruning objectives and timing.

All pruning is performed in accordance with ANSI A300 standards.

Common Objectives

• Develop or improve structure and architecture  
• Eliminate dead, diseased, or damaged limbs (crown-cleaning)
• Increase clearance around structures, driveways, and utilities
• Reduce crown / raise crown
• Canopy thinning for light management and airflow
• Enhancing lake views or modifying lines of sight
• Restore plants and trees post-storm
• Increase or decrease wildlife activity
• Rejuvenating shrubs

Access & Execution

Pruning is completed by experienced climbers or with lift access depending on canopy height and site conditions. Equipment is selected to minimize impact to turf and surrounding plantings. Work timing is coordinated with species biology and seasonal conditions.

Long-Term Value

Strategic pruning extends the service life of trees, improves canopy structure, and maintains aesthetics while reducing liability. For larger properties, pruning can be integrated into a broader tree and stand management plan.
