Large Shoreline Removal with Zero Landscape Impact

May 30, 2026

"This week’s project involved the removal of a large white pine located directly on the shoreline and leaning toward a pier and boat lift. The tree had begun uprooting, causing visible soil movement and cracking, and was lifting sections of the landscape walkway behind the root system.

Due to the location of the tree and the surrounding landscape, extensive rigging was utilized throughout the removal. Specialized gear, ropes, and lowering devices were employed to safely control each section as it was removed.

To minimize site impact, a barge was positioned alongside the work area and used as the primary landing zone for debris. Limbs, wood, and the entire trunk were lowered directly onto the barge rather than onto the customer's property, protecting nearby groundcover, young trees, and established landscaping.

Projects like this highlight the value of proper planning and specialized equipment. By combining technical climbing, advanced rigging techniques, and marine access, we were able to safely remove a high-risk tree while leaving the surrounding landscape virtually untouched.

The final result was the complete removal of the failing pine with no disruption to the remaining shoreline environment."
